There are three ways to make copies of your fields inside of Funnel. Each of these will accomplish something different. Below is a list of ways you might want to copy your fields:

  • Copy a field within the same Workspace

  • Copy a field from an outside Workspace into one you are currently working in

  • Copy a field from a Workspace you are currently in, to one or more other Workspaces

This article will explain how to use each copy function. In these examples, dimensions will be used, but the same process should be followed for copying metrics.

Note: All copy options are not dynamic. This means if you make an edit to the original field, you will not see the change reflected in the new field.

Copy a field within the same Workspace

If you want to make a copy of a custom field in the same Workspace, simply click on the copy symbol next to the description of the existing one:

Your new field and its defined rules are now there. If you want to change the field name or its rules, you can always edit it by clicking the "Edit" symbol next to the "Copy" symbol.

Copy a field from an outside Workspace into one you are currently working in

If you have access to several Workspaces in Funnel you have the possibility to choose a dimension or metric from any of those Workspaces.ย

Navigate to Dimensions or Metrics, and choose "Copy from other Workspaces".

Follow the steps to select which Workspace you want to import from and select the Fields you want to import. You will also be notified if the imported field depends on other fields that you don't have access to in your Workspace.

Copy a field from a Workspace you are currently in, to one or more other Workspaces

If you want a custom field from one Workspace to be copied to many Workspaces, start out within the Workspace where the field exists. Click on the field to go to the details page. Here you will find the option to copy the field to other Workspaces.
