If you want to visualize the data before setting up the export to Google Sheets (as explained in https://help.funnel.io/en/articles/4899059-how-to-create-a-scheduled-google-sheets-export), you can do it via the Data Explorer by following the steps below.

Creating an export via the Data Explorer

Step 1: Selecting your data set

Derived metrics

In order to save cells in your Google Sheet, you can avoid including metrics that are calculated using other metrics that you have available to you in Funnel (we often refer to these calculated metrics as "derived metrics", such as CPC).

Scheduling and date ranges

Before continuing, make sure that you have selected an appropriate date range for your export. If you want to create a scheduled daily export, you might consider choosing a date range that includes future dates, but this can easily be adjusted later.

Note: The export will upload the same data as previewed in the Data Explorer table.

Make sure to press the 'Load data' button before exporting to ensure that the exported data is what you configured it to be.

Step 2: Create your Google Sheets export

Select Export to Google Sheets in the Export drop-down.

Connecting a Google account

Make sure that the account you select has access to the Google Drive where you want your data uploaded. Recently used accounts will be listed in this window.

Create a new or use an existing spreadsheet

Decide if you want to create a new spreadsheet for your export, or export your data to an existing spreadsheet. You can choose custom names for both the sheet (tab) and the spreadsheet. It is possible to set up several exports to the same spreadsheet but into different sheets.

If you want summary information about the export, just check the box labeled 'Also include header...'. This is not suitable if you intend to use the data with Google Data Studio.

To complete the export, just click the 'Export now' button to upload your data to your spreadsheet.

Note: Data exported to an existing sheet will overwrite all previous data located on that sheet.

Step 3 (optional): Schedule your export

Once the export is complete, you have the opportunity to schedule it to run later at specified intervals.

Note: scheduling a Google Sheets export requires you to have access to the 'Google Sheets Upload' feature in your account.

If this is not the case, please reach out to your Customer Success Manager and let them know that you want to try out this feature.

Click 'Schedule this export' and then choose when you want it to run. If you want a different range of data to be exported, you can change that here too.

To complete the scheduled export, just click the 'Schedule' button.
