A dashboard consists of widgets. Each widget holds its own date range, segmentation, filters, and format. You can add as many or as few widgets as you need to your dashboards. Each new Funnel account comes with a default dashboard to show an example of how a dashboard can be designed:
To create a new dashboard, navigate to the Dashboards section and click "New dashboard":
You have the option to create a new dashboard from scratch by selecting "Custom", or copy a dashboard from any of the Funnel accounts you have access to with "Copy":
Selecting "Custom" creates a new dashboard with no widgets in it. To get started filling it with data, hit "Add widget":
This opens up the widget selector. What widget to pick depends on how you want to visualize your data.
After selecting a widget type you'll be able to customize it to your preferences. For example, if you want your dashboard to show how the cost per transaction for each of your traffic sources has developed over the last 30 days, you could configure it like this:
And the resulting widget would show something like this:
You can keep adding new widgets to have your dashboard show just the data you want, the way you need it. Widgets can be moved around and you can change their size.
Two useful features are the ability duplicate a widget, and add a new widget before another one. This saves a lot of time when creating more complex dashboards with multiple widgets:
