Marketo: Dimensions and metrics

Leverage your Marketo data in Funnel via Custom Connectors

Updated this week

If your use case requires Marketo data in Funnel, you can request it via a Custom Connector.

Custom Connectors and the Custom Connector Request feature are available in the following plans: Business and Enterprise. See our Pricing page for more details.

Data Availability & Limitations

Funnel integrates with Marketo using the Marketo Bulk Extract API. While this enables access to large datasets, there are some important limitations to be aware of.

Not Supported

The Marketo API does not support (or Funnel does not ingest):

  • Data Value Change events (Activity Type ID 13)

These dramatically increase data volumes and can cause performance and usability issues.

  • Guaranteed 1:1 parity with Marketo UI reporting

Attribution models differ between the API and the UI, which may result in small discrepancies.

  • Unlimited historical backfills

Marketo applies data retention limits for certain activity types, which restrict how far back data can be retrieved.

Things We’ll Need From You

To assess feasibility and scope, we’ll need some additional details:

  • Leads volume

    • How many total leads are in your Marketo instance?

  • Activity volume

    • Roughly how many events (opens, clicks, submissions, etc.) occur on a typical day?

  • Data requirements

    • Which reports and fields are essential vs. “nice to have”?

  • API limits

    • Your daily Marketo API quota, if known.

Once we have this information, our Integration Engineering team can evaluate the dataset size, API usage, and next steps.

How to Request this Custom Connector

To request Marketo data, submit a Custom Connector Request (see link here for instructions) or select the Marketo tile marked custom after enabling Show custom connectors. Selecting the tile automatically sends your request.

If you are interested in Marketo data that hasn't been covered here, we would like to encourage you to connect with our Integration Engineering team by submitting a Custom Connector Request. They will be more than happy to explore the potential of obtaining additional data.
