Note: Funnel AI was formerly known as Data Chat.
Funnel MCP lets you use Funnel data from MCP-compatible tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code and Codex. It is separate from in-product Funnel AI. MCP runs in your external client. Funnel AI runs inside Funnel.
Use Funnel AI > MCP to open the client cards and copy any connection details your client still needs. For tools, regional URLs and client setup beyond this page, see the Funnel MCP guides.
Before you begin
How to open Funnel AI in your workspace | Requirements |
Click Funnel AI in the left navigation pane, then select MCP. | Access to your Funnel workspace. An MCP-compatible client (for example Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code or Codex). |
Connect a listed client
Click Funnel AI in the left navigation pane, then select MCP.
Select the client card that matches your tool:
Claude: Opens the Funnel connector in Claude. Complete OAuth sign-in in the browser. For directory setup, see Connect Funnel MCP to Claude.
ChatGPT: Opens the Funnel plugin in the ChatGPT plugin directory. Select Install plugin and complete OAuth sign-in in the browser. For plugin-directory setup, see Connect Funnel MCP to ChatGPT.
Claude Code: Copy the
claude mcp addcommand and run it in your terminal. Then runclaude mcp login funneland complete OAuth sign-in in the browser. For the CLI flow, see Connect Funnel MCP to Claude Code.OpenAI Codex: Copy the
codex mcp addcommand and run it in your terminal. Run any command afterward to open the browser and authorize Funnel.
After you sign in, start a new chat or session in that client and ask something only Funnel can answer (for example
List the workspaces I can access in Funnel.).
Connect another MCP client
Use Other MCP clients when your tool is not in the card list (for example Cursor, Gemini, Copilot, Lovable or Perplexity).
On Funnel AI > MCP, select Other MCP clients.
Copy Server URL. Use the URL shown for your account. Do not guess regional endpoints.
Paste the URL into your MCP client and complete OAuth sign-in when prompted.
If your client requires a static OAuth client ID, copy OAuth Client ID from the same dialog and enter it in the client's advanced settings.
Note: For callback URL mismatches, contact Support to allowlist the URL.
What to expect
Your MCP client is connected to Funnel MCP. After you sign in, you can query Funnel data from that client with read-only tools. For tools and example prompts, see Quick start guide: Using Funnel MCP.
