This is currently a Early access feature available on our Business and Enterprise plans. It may lack some functionality and is not covered by our service level agreement. The feature is provided free of charge, i.e. without incurring and Flexpoint consumption, for as long as it is in the early access program.

Setup in Facebook Ads

Creating an Access Token

  1. Go to Settings for your Facebook Data source

  2. Scroll down to Conversions API

  3. Under "Set up direct integration" click "Generate access token"

  4. If it's the first time: follow the entire flow, there is no need of adding anything unless you want additional validation that you always send certain fields.

Find the Pixel ID

The ID listed for your Data source, in this case "1122334455667788" is the Pixel ID that you will need to input into Funnel.

Setup in Funnel

  • Input the Access Token and Pixel ID from Facebook.

  • Write the name of the event you want to upload to Facebook. This can be a Facebook standard event or a custom event of your choosing.

  • The only Action source supported right now is "Website" events.

  • Select a field that will populate the "Event Source URL" and let Facebook know which URL the conversion happened on.

  • Select a field that will populate the Facebook "Click ID" (required)

  • Select a field that will populate "Conversion time" (required), ie when the conversion happened. It needs to be a date in the format "2024-01-01", "2024-01-01T01:02:03" , "2024-01-01 01:02:03" or similar (can also include timezone and milliseconds).

  • Select a field that will populate the "Event ID" (required). This is the field that Facebook use to deduplicate on. If you send the same events from your website tag then make sure you use the same Event ID to avoid duplicate values.

  • Optionally add any filters. It is recommended to add filters on Data Source type or Data Source to avoid uploading too many rows when more Data Sources are added to the Workspace.

  • Select the currency of your Facebook account.

Test access

Once you setup a conversion upload it will take a while for the conversions to show in Facebooks UI. With this method you can upload you conversions to an event that will be called "TestEvent" and it will be shown live in Facebook, so that you can quickly go back and edit the Data Share setup in Funnel.

How to do it

  1. Copy the test event code from the "Test events" tab of your Facebook Ads data source.

2. Input test event code into Funnel in the last "Preview" step

3. Look at the test events in Facebook and make sure they look correct
