If your Funnel user is used as the credential to authenticate Looker Studio data shares, please follow the steps below to re-authenticate before March 10 2025. After this date, Funnel will no longer support the old authentication method.

By following the steps below, the changes are contained to simply replacing an old key with a new key – so the required action is for all people holding the keys to do these very steps. You will not have any changes made to your reports in Looker Studio or your data shares in Funnel.

The steps to take the required action are as follows:

  1. In Looker Studio's Data sources tab, select Create and choose Data source

2. Search for Funnel and open the options menu (the three dots)

3. Select Revoke access and follow the steps (Remove and Remove anyway)

4. As you remain on that page, now establish a new connection to the Funnel connector (by selecting the Funnel connector and following the authentication steps)

5. Once you see the “Success! You can close this tab” message, you’re done. You do not need to follow any additional steps within the connector flow.

Reminder: You will only have to perform these steps once for every credential holder.

Frequently asked questions:

Question: How do I know if I need to follow these steps?

Answer: All credential holders will have received an email from The Funnel Team with the subject line [ACTION REQUIRED]: Re-authenticate Looker Studio data shares.

Question: Do I need to go through this process for every Funnel data share?

Answer: No, you do not need to go through this process for every data share. The Funnel data shares are not part of outlined steps above – all the steps you go through are in the Looker Studio interface.

Question: Will a new data source in Looker Studio be created as part of this process?

Answer: No, this process does not create a new data source in Looker Studio, it simply updates how the data source/connector authenticates (i.e. the keys).

Question: If I go through these steps, will my reports or custom fields break?

Answer: No, since these steps do not create a new data source in Looker Studio, no changes are made to your reports or custom fields.

If you have any additional questions, please reach out to the Funnel support team in-app.
