Problem summary
Your Google Analytics 4 (GA4) data source cannot import data when its dimensions and metrics are incompatible.
Error message or symptoms
The Edit configuration dialog warns that one or more fields are incompatible.
A data request fails after Google changes field compatibility.
The dialog does not identify which custom fields are incompatible.
When does this occur
The data source combines fields that the Analytics Data API does not support in one request.
Google introduces a new incompatibility between fields that previously worked together.
The request includes custom dimensions or metrics.
Root cause
The Analytics Data API defines which dimensions and metrics can be requested together. Google can change these compatibility rules. Funnel cannot download a combination that the API rejects.
Solution
Open the data source and select Edit configuration.
Remove each field that shows an incompatibility warning.
If no warning appears, compare the request in GA4 Query Explorer.
Use the Query Explorer error message to identify which fields to remove.
Remove those fields from the Funnel data source and import the data again.
