Reddit v3 API update guide

How to transition to Funnel's new connector version that uses the v3 API.

Overview

In order to support more metrics and dimensions we’re upgrading the Reddit connector in Funnel to support the latest version of Reddit’s API (v3). To move to the new API you need to connect new data sources with the option “v3” selected in the Reddit connect flow (see screenshot below).


Data collection for data sources running on v2 will stop on Sep 30, 2024.

Schema changes

Reddit are making some changes to their reports when moving to the new v3 API.

Attribution windows are handled differently

Click and view-through conversion metrics are no longer supplied as separate metrics for different conversion windows but are instead broken down by the dimensions Click Attribution Window and View Attribution Window. The value of these dimensions will be the attribution window configured in your Reddit account at the time the data is fetched into Funnel.

Removed fields

The following fields are not available in the new API and will be flagged as deprecated in Funnel after Sep 30, 2024. However, you will be able to use the fields for historical data if you choose to keep old data sources in your workspace.
