Troubleshoot missing Campaign or Campaign Group data in LinkedIn Ads

Why Campaign and Campaign Group data is missing for draft or paused entities in Funnel.

Campaign Group or Campaign dimensions and metrics are missing in Funnel for entities you can see in LinkedIn Campaign Manager.

Error message or symptoms

Dimensions and metrics for specific Campaign groups or Campaigns do not appear in Funnel or Data Explorer.

When does this occur

The Campaign group or Campaign has draft or paused status in LinkedIn

Root cause

The LinkedIn API does not expose dimensions and metrics for Campaign groups and Campaigns in draft or paused status. Funnel can only download data LinkedIn makes available through the API.

Solution

LinkedIn has updated entity names in Campaign Manager (for example, Campaign group may appear as Campaign and Campaign as Ad set). See LinkedIn: Changes to campaign hierarchy in Campaign Manager. Funnel may still show legacy labels (Campaign Group/Campaign) in some places. We are working on updating the terminology to match LinkedIn’s current naming.

  1. In LinkedIn Campaign Manager, check the status of the Campaign group or Campaign.

  2. If you need the data in Funnel, activate or run the entity so it is no longer draft or paused, then wait for the next data source download.

  3. If you only need historical data for completed campaigns, filter to active or completed entities that were delivering when data was collected.
