Trivago: How to connect

Trivago must set up a data export for you before Funnel can import your data. How to request it, connect the source and get it verified.

Trivago doesn't share data through a login you enter in Funnel. Instead, Trivago exports your reports to a folder on their own server, and Funnel collects them from there. Because of this, Trivago has to set up the export for you before your data can import, and Funnel has to confirm with Trivago that the data belongs to you.

Before you connect

Contact your account manager at Trivago and ask them to:

  1. Set up a data export to Funnel for your Trivago partner account.

  2. Tell you the folder name they've created for your data (a short name, for example yourcompany, not a full file path).

Have these details ready when you write to them:

  • Your Trivago partner ID

  • Your company name

  • The email address you use in Funnel

Connect the data source

  1. In Funnel, go to Data sources and add Trivago.

  2. Fill in the fields below.

  3. Finish the connection.

  • Email: the email address you use in Funnel.

  • Company: your company name, or the folder name Trivago gave you if you have it.

  • Partner ID: your Trivago partner ID.

  • Currency: the currency your Trivago account uses.

"Access to trivago must be manually verified by Funnel"

You'll see this message right after connecting. That's expected: it means the source is waiting for Funnel to verify it. No data imports until verification is done.

To get it verified, send the folder name from Trivago, along with your partner ID, to Funnel support at support@funnel.io (or reply in your existing support conversation). Once we have it, we finish the setup and your data starts importing, usually the same day.

If the message has been there for more than a few days, the most common reason is that Trivago hasn't set up the export yet. Check with your Trivago account manager first.

Good to know

  • One partner ID per source. If you have several Trivago partner accounts, connect a separate source for each one. Each needs its own export from Trivago.

  • Dates can differ from the file date. For CPA campaigns, Trivago reports the cost on the day the booking happens, but the row's date is the day of the original click or impression. Some rows can therefore appear a few days after the date they belong to.

See Trivago: Dimensions and metrics for the data available.
