Ask an AI client connected to Funnel MCP, such as Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code or Cursor, which conventions your workspace has and how a convention turns names, such as campaign names, into dimensions.
What you can see
Information | What it shows |
Active conventions | The conventions in use in the workspace, sorted by name. |
Archived conventions | The conventions that are no longer in use, sorted by name. You can't open an archived convention. |
One active convention | Its patterns, variables, allowed values, validation rules and the dimensions it creates, with a link to the convention in Funnel. |
Viewing conventions only reads information. It doesn't change anything, so there is nothing to approve. You can't create, edit or archive conventions through Funnel MCP. Make those changes in Data > Plan & govern > Conventions. For how conventions work, see Set up conventions.
Before you begin
You have an AI client connected to Funnel MCP. To connect one, see Quick start guide: Using Funnel MCP.
You have access to the workspace.
View your conventions
In your AI client, ask about your conventions in plain language. For example:
Which conventions do we have in this workspace?Show the patterns and allowed values in our campaign naming convention.Which dimensions does the campaign naming convention create?
If your client asks for its own approval to use the Funnel MCP tool, allow it.
(Optional) To see the full setup, open the link to the convention in Funnel.
