Overview
Enable your workspace notifications to know when there are errors in your data sources or exports. You can decide who receives these notifications. You can receive these notifications as emails or in Slack.
Notification types
You can enable workspace notifications for data source errors and export errors.
Data source error notifications
You receive a data source error notification during one of the following scenarios. Ensure to follow the recommended steps to troubleshoot when you see an error.
Data source errors | Recommended actions |
The connector cannot fetch the data. | Re‑authorize the source. |
Data source account credentials expired. | Update the credentials. |
API returns an error | Contact the platform owner. |
Export error notifications
You receive an export error notification when a scheduled export to a destination fails. In such scenarios, retry the export, check for the authentication, and review the run details.

Reduce manual checks: No need to open each data source daily.
Centralize control: Manage all alerting notifications in the same screen.
Requirements
You must have one of the following workspace roles to modify or receive notifications about the data source errors: Workspace Administrator or Data Source Editor
You must have one of the following workspace roles to modify or receive notifications about the export errors: Workspace Administrator or Export Editor
Enable a data source error notification
Complete the following steps to enable a data source error notification.
In the Funnel app, go to your workspace.
From the navigation menu on the left, select Workspace Settings > Notifications.
Under the Data Source errors section, select the conditions for which you want to receive the notifications. You can choose to receive notifications for the following errors:
Data Source connection errors: If you check this check box, you will receive email notifications about data source connection errors where you have to resume downloading.
Delayed downloads: You will receive notifications when there is an unexpected delay in downloading the data. No action is required from you. Funnel will try to download the data.
Set the frequency of the notifications under the When should we notify you? section.
By default, you will receive notifications daily at 8:00 am Europe/Stockholm timezone. Select different options from the drop-down lists to change it to a weekly notification at a different time.
(Optional) Check the Notify me even if there are no warnings checkbox.
If you check this check box, you will receive notifications based on the frequency you set.
In the Email notification to field, enter the email addresses to which you want to receive notifications.
If you want to enter multiple email addresses, separate them by a comma.
Click Save.
Enable an export error notification
Complete the following steps to enable an export error notification.
In the Funnel app, go to your workspace.
From the navigation menu on the left, select Workspace Settings > Notifications.
Under the Export errors section, click + Add recipient.
The Add recipient dialog appears.
Select an existing user from the drop-down list.
To add an external user, enter the email address. This email address will appear as an option and marked as External, which you can select as a recipient.
Click Add recipient(s).
You can remove a recipient from the error notifications list by removing their email address.
