Troubleshoot missing data for one advertiser in The Trade Desk

When one The Trade Desk advertiser stops returning rows while the source keeps updating, check campaign activity and rebuild the report schedule in The Trade Desk.

Problem summary

The Trade Desk advertiser stops delivering rows while the data source keeps running successfully and other advertisers on the same report continue to land data. In Funnel the affected advertiser shows a flat gap: rows that used to arrive daily drop to zero from a certain date onward.

Error message or symptoms

You may see one or more of the following:

  • The affected advertiser returns zero rows from a certain date onward

  • Other advertisers on the same report template continue to return data

  • The data source authenticates and completes its runs with no connection error and no failed downloads

When does this occur

  • You have a The Trade Desk source that includes more than one advertiser

  • Only one advertiser stops returning data while others continue

  • Campaigns for the affected advertiser may be paused, ended or disconnected from the report schedule in The Trade Desk

Root cause

Suspected: The Trade Desk is returning an empty report for that advertiser. This is not a Funnel connection or credential problem, because the source authenticates and completes its runs. It is also not specific to one report template, because a different advertiser on the same template continues to return full data.

Solution

  1. In The Trade Desk platform, confirm that the affected advertiser still has campaigns that were live during the affected dates. If the campaigns were paused or ended, The Trade Desk returns no rows for that period and there is no data for Funnel to fetch.

  2. If campaigns are active but data still does not arrive, rebuild the report schedule directly in The Trade Desk so the advertiser is included again. A configuration change in Funnel alone does not restore data when the report itself no longer includes the advertiser.

  3. After The Trade Desk returns data again for the advertiser, Funnel picks it up on the next scheduled run.
