Resolve connection issues for Amazon DSP data sources

Why the Amazon DSP connect flow returns Could not find any Amazon DSP accounts and which Amazon account setup lets your accounts appear.

Problem summary

In the account selection step when connecting an Amazon DSP data source, no accounts are listed, but you see DSP advertisers in the Amazon Ads console and have admin rights.

Error message or symptoms

  • The connect flow authenticates and passes the details step, then fails at the account selection step with the message Could not find any Amazon DSP accounts. Make sure Funnel can access your accounts and try again.

  • No DSP advertisers appear for selection, so you cannot complete the connection.

  • The Amazon Ads console shows one or more DSP advertisers that are managed by an agency.

When does this occur

  • You connect Amazon DSP in Connect > Data sources and reach the account selection step.

  • Your DSP advertisers are managed by an agency (a managed service setup) rather than owned directly by the account you sign in with.

  • You sign in with a login that resolves to a seller or vendor profile, or to an advertiser level profile, instead of the agency profile that manages the advertisers.

  • The advertisers are not linked under an Amazon manager account that includes the user you connect with.

Root cause

Amazon only exposes DSP advertisers for connection through an agency type profile or through an Amazon manager account link. This is a requirement of Amazon's Advertising API, not a Funnel limitation. When the login you connect with resolves to a seller, vendor, or advertiser level profile with no agency profile and no manager account link to the advertisers, Amazon returns no DSP accounts, so Funnel has nothing to list. A direct advertiser level invite does not satisfy this requirement on its own, because Amazon still hands that user a non-agency profile that its account listing filters out.

Solution

Choose the option that matches how your DSP advertisers are managed:

  1. Connect with the managing agency's own agency profile credentials. If an agency manages your DSP advertisers, connect using the agency account (its "External" agency profile), which carries the agency type profile Amazon requires. The advertisers then appear for selection.

  2. Link the advertisers under an Amazon manager account that includes the connecting user. Ask the agency or account owner to add the DSP advertisers to an Amazon manager account, and to include the user who connects the source in Funnel. Amazon then lists those advertisers for that user.

Keep the connector region set to the region of your Amazon marketplace (for example EU for a UK marketplace). Amazon's API is region partitioned, so a mismatched region also returns no accounts.

After you connect with the correct account or manager account link, reconnect the Amazon DSP source and the advertisers appear at the account selection step.
