Ask Funnel AI to create a client portal, choose which dashboards it shares and set up the brand it uses. By default, Funnel AI shows each change on a card and waits for your approval. For how portals work, see Create a portal.
Before you begin
To create or change portals, you have permission to edit client portals in the workspace. If you don't, ask your workspace admin for access.
To create, edit or delete brands, you're a member of the workspace's subscription.
The dashboards you want to share already exist in the workspace.
Note: You can't open Funnel AI in a portal page yet.
Create a portal
In the top bar, click Show AI chat, or press Cmd+J (Mac) or Ctrl+J (Windows). You can also go to AI > New chat in the left menu.
Ask Funnel AI to create a portal. For example:
Create a client portal for Acme with our weekly performance dashboard.
On the card, enter a name for the portal.
Select a brand. The card shows a preview of each brand's colors. To use a new brand, create it on the card.
Select the dashboards to share. The card lists the dashboards in the workspace.
Click Create portal. The button reads Create portal with N dashboards when you select dashboards, or Create brand and portal when you create a new brand.
By default, the portal uses the workspace currency.
Change a portal
In the chat, ask Funnel AI for the change and name the portal. For example:
Add the paid social dashboard to the Acme portal.
Review the card that Funnel AI shows.
Approve the change on the card. The table shows what each card shows and how to approve it.
Change | What the card shows | How to approve it |
Add or remove dashboards | All dashboards in the workspace, with the portal's current dashboards selected. | Select or clear dashboards and approve the change. |
Organize dashboards into groups | The current grouping and the new grouping. | Click Save arrangement. |
Change the brand or settings | The change to the portal. | Click Save changes, or Create brand and save when you create a new brand. |
Delete the portal | The number of dashboards and users in the portal. | Click Delete portal. |
Deleting a portal is permanent. The dashboards in it are kept in the workspace.
To check who has access to a portal, ask Funnel AI. For example: Who has access to the Acme portal?
Manage brands
A brand sets the look of the portals that use it, such as their colors and logo. Ask Funnel AI to create, edit or delete a brand and review the card.
To create a brand, give it a name and colors. Then click Create brand.
When you edit a brand, the card shows the brand before and after the change and the portals that use it. The change applies to every portal that uses the brand across the subscription.
Deleting a brand can't be undone. Portals that use the brand switch to the default branding.
A new brand has no logo, and editing a brand keeps its current logo. To add a logo, see Create branding for a portal.
Choose which changes need your approval
In AI > Tool permissions, under Portals, you can set these actions to Always allow: Create portals, Update portals, Change portal dashboards, Organize portal dashboards, Create portal brands and Update portal brands. Funnel AI then makes those changes without showing a card, and the chat shows Auto-approved by tool permissions. If a card shows Always allow, click it to approve the change and skip the card for that action from then on. For more, see Manage tool permissions in Funnel AI.
Funnel AI always asks before it:
Deletes a portal or a brand.
Removes dashboards from a portal.
Creates or updates a portal with a new brand.
If you set Create portal brands to Never allow, Funnel AI also can't create a brand while it creates a portal.
Limitations
You can't invite or remove portal users from the chat. Funnel AI links you to Report > Portals, where you can manage users.
You can't upload brand logos from the chat.
Use Funnel MCP
You can do the same tasks from an AI client connected to Funnel MCP, such as Claude or ChatGPT. Your AI client shows you each change and asks you to approve it before Funnel makes it. For the steps and limits, see Manage portals and brands using Funnel MCP.
To connect a client, see Quick start guide: Using Funnel MCP.
What to expect
The portal and its changes appear in Report > Portals. Brand changes show on every portal that uses the brand.
