Deal with Consent Management tools

This article will help you to remain the functionality of the Adtriba tracking if you have a Consent Management in place

Note: Adtriba Core is a legacy feature that we continue to support but no longer sell. The latest version of this feature is available as Funnel Measurement.
If you are already using Funnel Measurement, find more information here. To upgrade, contact us.

Use this guide to keep Adtriba tracking working when you use a consent management tool.

Since 2019, users must give consent before a tracking pixel can run on your website. Most clients use consent management solutions to handle consent and marketing pixels.

Why is a consent management tool problematic?

Consent management blocks all pixels on the first pageview. After the user gives consent, the pixel runs on the second pageview at the earliest.

Adtriba uses URL parameters to distinguish and read traffic sources. The Adtriba pixel must run while URL parameters are still in the URL, which is on the first pageview. On the second pageview, the parameters are usually gone.

How to avoid problems

Ask your IT team to persist URL parameters from the first pageview. Save the parameters in a cookie or keep them in the URL on the second pageview.

Contact us if you need help or are unsure whether your consent manager affects Adtriba tracking.
