Troubleshoot `REVOKED_ACCESS_TOKEN` in LinkedIn Ads

Restore LinkedIn Ads data sources that fail with a revoked or expired access token.

Your LinkedIn Ads data sources stop downloading and show an authorization error after they were working previously.

Error message or symptoms

The API responded with: 401 Unauthorized and the message 'REVOKED_ACCESS_TOKEN'.

When does this occur

  • A LinkedIn Ads data source that previously downloaded successfully starts failing

  • LinkedIn credentials have not been refreshed within LinkedIn's required period (credentials must be updated at least once per year)

Root cause

LinkedIn revokes or expires access tokens according to its security policy. When the token is no longer valid, Funnel cannot authenticate to download data.

Solution

  1. In Funnel, go to Data > Data sources.

  2. Open the affected LinkedIn Ads source and reconnect it to refresh credentials.

  3. Confirm the download succeeds on the next scheduled run.
