Introduction
Custom connectors are bespoke integrations that sync data from unique sources into Funnel. These are available for platforms not currently included in Funnel’s standard connector library.
Note: Custom connectors are available for users on Business and Enterprise plans.
Capabilities of a custom connector
Custom connectors allow you to handle specific data requirements such as:
Source flexibility: Retrieve data from virtually any platform with an available API or export.
Maintenance: Connectors are monitored and updated to ensure ongoing data flow for the life of the contract.
Refresh windows: Configure flexible data refresh intervals.
Dateless data: Import data that is not primarily organized by a date dimension. See the Dateless data in Funnel help article for more information.
File structures: Process unconventional or complex file formats.
Limitations
Note the following before starting a request:
Feasibility: Not every platform or data structure can be integrated; compatibility is assessed on a case-by-case basis.
Data availability: Some platforms provide less data through APIs than what is visible in their native dashboard.
Compliance: All integrations must comply with the third-party platform's terms of service.
Managing data requests
1. Prepare a request
To determine if a custom connector can be built, provide specific technical details about the source. See the guide on How to prepare for a data request for the required information.
2. Submit a new request
To request a new custom connector or specific data, follow the instructions in How do I request new data in Funnel.
3. Track progress
View the status of a submission on the Data requests page in your Funnel workspace. For an explanation of the different statuses, see Tracking a data request.
Modifying existing custom connectors
Update logic or fields
To change how an existing connector functions, submit a new data request with the following information:
Description of changes: Detail the updates needed and attach an example of the updated report or query.
Data source ID: Provide the ID for the specific sources requiring the update. This is found as a dimension in Funnel Data Explorer.
Add new accounts
To add more accounts or sources to an existing custom connector, submit a data request specifying:
The name of the existing custom connector.
The specific accounts or sources to be added.
The target Funnel workspaces.
Support and troubleshooting
Errors: For help with common connection issues, see Troubleshooting common custom connector errors.
Data mismatches: If data in Funnel does not match the source, refer to Resolving data mismatches in custom connectors.
