How Funnel handles data requests

Learn how Funnel prioritizes your data requests and how you submit one for more fields or platforms.

In Funnel, you can connect through 600+ standard connectors with thousands of fields. Funnel tracks new functionality from existing platforms and emerging platforms so the connector library stays current for you.

How your data requests are handled

When you submit a data request for new or changed connector fields, Funnel does not always start work right away. The team picks up your request and evaluate the feasibility. That is different from how Funnel handles your issue reports.

Your data requests and patterns across similar requests help Funnel set priorities when it plans connector improvements. If you and other users need the same change, your request usually moves up in priority.

Submit a data request

Use a data request when you need more fields or other changes on a connector you already use, or when you want to connect a new platform. You use the same form in both cases.

Note: You can submit data requests on Business and Enterprise plans. See the Pricing page for plan details.

  1. Go to Data > Connect > Data sources.

  2. Select + Connect data source.

  3. On the Connect data source page, find Want a new platform or more fields? or scroll down to find it.

  4. Select Create a data request and follow the prompts. Include as much detail as you can about the connector, fields, and your use case.

After you submit, track your request in Tracking a data request.

What to expect for timelines

You will not get a promised completion date for your data request or for when connector changes ship. Here is why:

  • Availability is a priority: You rely on a stable product today, so Funnel prioritizes keeping the current experience running well for all users. If Funnel committed to a date for every request, stability could suffer for everyone.

  • Investigation takes time: Before Funnel can add data to a connector, the team must confirm it is feasible. That step often takes the longest. Funnel groups similar requests and works through them when a platform team is ready, instead of opening many investigations only to offer dates.

  • More data = better decisions: The more requests Funnel sees for the same need, the clearer your priority becomes. If requests were handled strictly first come, first served, a newer request could move ahead even when many users need the same change. Funnel weighs your request alongside what helps the widest group of users.

Get data before a connector is extended

Before you wait for Funnel to extend a connector, check whether you can bring the data in yourself:

If the data is business-critical, contact your Funnel representative. They can help escalate your need.

Improve the chance your request is prioritized

When you submit a data request, fill out every field in the form.

Mention how you plan to use the data. What are you trying to achieve? Is it a common use case other users share? Examples and context help Funnel understand your need.
