Where to find data requests in Funnel | Minimum required subscription plan |
Data > Connect > Data sources (Create a data request), or Data > Connect > Data requests | Business or Enterprise plan |
Use a data request to bring in new data or change data you already receive from your 3rd-party platform sources in Funnel. You can submit only one connector per request.
The data request form
In the Data requests workflow, you have to complete four steps:
Select request type: Choose what you need help with, then select Continue.
Describe your request: Explain the data you need and upload examples where helpful.
Provide access credentials: Share how Funnel can access the data securely.
Review and submit: Confirm the summary and send the request.
While you are on Select request type, the sidebar shows How to select your request type with an overview of each option, tips and a link to more guidance.
Request types in the form
In the Select request type step, choose one option. You can submit only one connector per request. Select Show details on a card to read more before you continue.
Modify your existing data sources
Make changes to your data sources, like missing data fields.
Use this when you need changes to data sources you already have in your subscription.
Typical uses:
Add, remove, rename, or remap fields.
Update format or structure.
Other changes to how a data source is configured.
If the data sources you need are not listed or are in another workspace, paste their links in the form (comma-separated) when prompted.
Request new data source
Request a new data source from a connector Funnel already supports.
Use this when the platform is already available as a connector in Funnel but you need another data source (for example another account or workspace connection).
Request new connector
Request new connector for a source Funnel doesn't support yet.
Use this when the source is not available in Funnel’s connector library. Integration Engineering reviews whether Funnel can support it and may build a connector for your organization.
When you select Show details, you also see how data might be collected (for example scheduled email reports, API, SFTP, SQL or ODBC, cloud storage, or other). See How to prepare for a data request for what to gather before you submit.
When to use a data request
Use a data request when self-service options are not enough:
Your goal | Request type to select |
Change fields or setup on data sources you already use | Modify your existing data sources |
Connect another source on a connector Funnel already supports | Request new data source |
Connect a platform that is not in the connector library | Request new connector |
Start from a connector tile in the library that requires a data request | Request new data source or Request new connector, depending on the prompt |
The sidebar on Select request type also notes:
Tip: Before you request a new connector, try the File import tool or the Google Sheets connector for faster imports.
Note: Funnel does not save your progress in the form. Have your details and credentials ready before you start.
Funnel reviews every request and tells you whether it can support what you asked for.
Limitations
Funnel assesses each request individually. Keep the following in mind:
Feasibility: Not every platform or data structure can be integrated.
Data availability: Some platforms expose less data through APIs than you see in their own UI.
Compliance: Integrations must follow the third-party platform’s terms of service.
Flexpoints: Work to add a new connector or data source type may require flexpoints on your subscription. Changes to existing data sources are handled case by case.
How the data request process works
Prepare: Gather sample reports, access details, and platform documentation. See How to prepare for a data request.
Submit: Open the data request form, select a request type, and complete each step. See Request new data in Funnel.
Track: Monitor status on Data > Connect > Data requests. See Tracking a data request.
For how Funnel prioritizes requests for more data on connectors you already use, see How Funnel handles connector feedback.
