Introduction

A managed Meta account is a business login credential managed through Meta Business Manager. Unlike personal Facebook accounts, managed Meta accounts create a business user profile designed for organizations managing Meta business assets centrally, providing better security and account management.

This article explains how to reconnect Funnel as a third-party app using your managed Meta account credentials. This process is ideal for organizations that have activated managed Meta accounts and need to reconnect their Meta data sources in Funnel using their business user profile.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, ensure you have:

  • An activated managed Meta account with a business user profile.

  • Access to the Meta business assets, like the ad accounts, Facebook Pages, or Instagram accounts, you want to connect in Funnel.

  • Admin or standard access permissions for the business assets you want to connect.

  • An active Funnel account with access to your workspace.

  • Your business user profile must have access to the business assets for any sources you want to connect in Funnel. If your business user profile doesn't have the required access, the connection or reconnection will fail.

Procedure

Follow these steps to reconnect Meta data sources in Funnel using your managed Meta account:

Step 1. Open an incognito window

Open a new incognito or a private browsing window in your web browser.

Using an incognito window ensures you sign in with your business user profile without interference from other logged-in Facebook accounts.

Step 2. Sign in to Business Manager

  1. In the incognito window, go to https://business.facebook.com/workaccount/login.

  2. Sign in with your managed Meta account credentials to access your business user profile.

Step 3. Sign in to Funnel

  1. In the same incognito window, open a new tab.

  2. Go to https://login.funnel.io/u/login/ and sign in to your Funnel account.

  3. Select your workspace after signing in.

Step 4. Reconnect a data source with your business user profile

  1. In Funnel, go to Connect > Data sources.

  2. Select the Meta data sources you want to reconnect with your managed Meta account.

  3. Click More actions > Reconnect.

  4. In the reconnect flow, add credentials by clicking Continue with Facebook.

  5. Click Log in with a managed Meta account.

  6. In the Meta authorization dialog, you may need to use the user profile switcher in the top right to select your business user profile from the dropdown menu.

  7. Give Funnel access to your business user profile name and profile picture.

  8. Choose which business assets you want to give Funnel access to.

  9. Review the permissions and complete the authorization.

  10. After completing the authorization, your new credential is selected automatically.

  11. Click Reconnect to finish the setup.

Note: After adding the credential to Funnel, you can close the incognito window and continue the remaining steps in your regular browser if you prefer.

Step 5. Verify the reconnection

  1. After the reconnection completes, a data sync job triggers automatically.

  2. Monitor the data source status to verify it's working correctly with your business user profile.

  3. Check that data is being imported successfully from your business assets.

Step 6. Apply the credential to other data sources

After creating the credential with your business user profile, reconnect your other Meta data sources by repeating Step 4. You don't need to use an incognito window for subsequent reconnections because the credential already exists in Funnel.

What to expect

After reconnecting your data sources with your managed Meta account credential:

  • Your data sources use your business user profile for authentication.

  • Data continues syncing normally with no interruption from your business assets.

  • You can manage all Meta data sources using the same credential.

  • Your credential is tied to your business user profile, not a personal Facebook account.

  • Funnel appears in the third-party app integrations section of your business portfolio settings in Meta Business Manager.
